Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and Israel Oluye Dianga, trading as D&D TechBros, the developer of AstralRoots ("we", "us"), who makes the AstralRoots app. By creating an account or using AstralRoots, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. Who can use AstralRoots
You must be at least 18 years old to use AstralRoots. By using it, you confirm that you are.
2. Your account
You sign in with an email address and password, or with your Google account. We confirm your email address with a 6-digit code, and a password reset works the same way. Please give accurate details, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. Each account is for one person.
3. What AstralRoots is, and what it is not
AstralRoots offers astrology for reflection and entertainment: a natal chart calculated from the birth details you give us, daily readings, a cosmic calendar with your own returns and seasons, rituals and a private journal. The text of your readings is generated automatically by a language model from your chart, the day's sky and the work and focus details you choose to share; a person does not write it.
Astrology is not a science, and nothing in AstralRoots is professional advice. Readings are for reflection and entertainment. They are not medical, psychological, legal, financial or career advice, and they do not predict events. Please make your decisions with your own judgement and, where it matters, with a qualified professional.
4. AstralRoots Plus
Some features are part of AstralRoots Plus, a subscription billed through Google Play.
- Prices are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency.
- The annual plan starts with a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, Google Play charges you for the plan you chose. The monthly plan has no trial.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Google Play (Payments and subscriptions), and from the app under Me, AstralRoots Plus, Manage subscription, which opens that page. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Plus until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Payments, renewals and refunds are handled by Google Play under Google Play's terms and refund policies. We never see your card details.
- Deleting your AstralRoots account does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Please cancel it in Google Play as well.
We may change what Plus includes or what it costs. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for, and Google Play tells you about it in advance.
5. Your journal and other content
What you write in your journal is yours. You give us permission to store it and show it back to you so the app works, including syncing it between your devices. We do not sell it, we do not use it to write readings, and we do not share it with anyone except the providers that host our service (see the Privacy Policy). You can export or delete it at any time.
6. Using AstralRoots fairly
Please do not:
- use AstralRoots for anything unlawful, or to harm or harass anyone;
- try to break, overload, reverse engineer or get around the limits and security of the app or its servers;
- create accounts in bulk or automate the app;
- copy or resell AstralRoots content as your own.
7. Our content
The app, its design, text, images, readings and other content belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable licence to use them in the app. Share cards made in the app are there to be shared; please share them as they are.
8. Changes to AstralRoots and to these terms
We improve AstralRoots over time, and features may change, move or stop. We may update these terms. When we do, we change the effective date above, and for significant changes we tell you in the app before they apply. Using AstralRoots after a change means you accept the updated terms.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using AstralRoots at any time, and you can delete your account in the app (Me, Delete account) or as described at astralroots.app/delete-account. That deletes your account and your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk.
10. Disclaimers and limits on our liability
AstralRoots is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will always be available, error free, or suitable for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on a reading. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.
11. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, without affecting any consumer protections you have where you live.
